Below are photos of various horses and students.

The newest addition to Breezing Hill Farm - a 5-year-old Welch mountain pony named Daisy. She is an adorable, sweet, smart, and very curious pony. We are currently working on teaching her basic life skills, such as leading properly, standing quietly and negotiating various obstacles. She is a very fancy pony, so stay tuned, she may turn into a dressage or event pony. And she seems to like playing the “princess” role!

Vanessa showed her 10-year-old Hanoverian, Folgenstaff, better know as Rufus,  at Second Level at USEF/USDF shows this summer. This was their first outing at nationally recognized shows in more than two years.  Rufus’ tension had made it impossible to get through a test without an explosion. With the help of Dawn Weniger and Linda Hoover, Vanessa was able to get Rufus to a new level of softness, responsiveness and mental quietness at home, then at controlled schooling sessions away from home, and then,  eventually, at shows.  Vanessa and Rufus finished the year as NCDCTA Reserve Champions in the Second Level Open division.

Vanessa debuted Krista Davila’s 6-year-old Friesan/Saddlebred cross FWF Princess Starlight at Second Level this fall, earning scores in the mid-60s at local schooling shows. The pair have been moving up the levels quickly, having moved up to First Level less than a year ago.

Pepper and her quarter horse gelding, Bailey, took first and second in the Beginner Novice-A division at the November Fenridge dressage show.

Pepper and Mia had a blast competing at the Fenridge HT in Sept. This was Mia’s first horse trials with her new mare, Chabang.

Vanessa took students Pepper and Mia to Five County Stables in Zebulon and Fenridge Farm in Mebane for cross-country schoolings throughout the summer and fall.

Natalie Tonkiha ventured into the show ring with her lovely gelding, Leandro, this year.

Linda Hoover conducted a Sport Horse Versatility clinic at Breezing Hill Farm.  We had a variety of horses participating in the various groups, from dressage and event horses to trail and pleasure horses.
